On October 26th, 2019, Roadworks was honored to sponsor and walk with Team Grace for Glen and Blake at the 2019 Raleigh JDRF One Walk. Team Grace for Glen and Blake is hosted by Moffat Pipe, one of our clients and friends. Keith and Andrea Moffat have two children living with Type 1 Diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes, also known as juvenile diabetes, is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin and often appears during childhood. Type 1 diabetes has no cure. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF, is a nonprofit organization that funds Type 1 Diabetes research as well as supports families living with Type 1. Over the years their research has helped with the creation of more consistent insulins, advanced pumps that are easier to wear and track sugar levels better than ever before. Thirty years ago, it was impossible to determine if a child could end up with Type 1. Now, they have found biomarkers that detect Type 1 prior to symptom appearance.
